Successes have included developing enterprise standards, engineering detailed procedures for implementing solutions such as Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP, WINS, DNS, and virus protection. I have been a lead resource in the design and implementation of new infrastructure components and technologies. I was also the Principal Architect for Entergy’s initial Active Directory design and deployment as well as the lead engineer for the Active Directory upgrade from Windows 2000 to Windows 2003. I am currently the lead engineer for upgrading the enterprise to Active Directory 2012. I have also been the primary engineering resource for day one infrastructure merger plans for multiple nuclear power plants. I was also the initial driving force behind implementation of virtualization technology by creating a proof of concept environment and proving its viability and benefit to the company. Virtualization has saved the company hundreds of thousands of dollars in hardware costs alone.I am also experienced in providing engineering level operational support, leveraging vendor expertise, and performing root-cause analysis of infrastructure problems. I am experienced in the use of scripting languages such as Perl and Visual Basic to perform otherwise tedious and time consuming tasks such as dynamic server inventory and automated server deployment and configuration, guaranteeing repeatable results, minimizing build times, and simplifying the server deployment process. The build processes that I have developed have saved thousands of hours in labor and produced very consistent results while maintaining flexibility and simplicity.
