I started my career in nursing roughly seventeen years ago with a goal of helping to improve patient outcomes as well as being a strong patient advocate to enhance the hospital experience through excellent patient care. Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to work in many areas of the hospital as well as several outpatient interventional radiology clinics. In addition to helping improve patient outcomes, I have found that another one of the most satisfying aspects of being in the nursing field are the opportunities created by the multitude of paths available and the experiences that come along the way.I've recently transitioned to a clinical role with Avia Vascular, specifically the Ally needle-free blood collection device. I see this device as being a game changer in patient care and efficiency within the hospital. We intend on improving the patient experience as well as decrease needlestick injuries and redraw rates. My experience in bed control also allows me to visualize how this device can be used to improve throughput within a facility.
