As an educator who began during the height of the Covid-19 Pandemic, I have exceeded student growth expectations with no previous education training. My success as a teacher is attributable to my diverse set of experiences, my intrapersonal skills, and most importantly resiliency and adept ability to learn quickly. I attended NC State University, where I graduated with a 4.0 in Biological Sciences. My greatest takeaway was mastering how to effectively learn and handle adversity. Through this, I discovered how to adapt quickly and succeed professionally.Throughout my career, I have completed research in ecology, paleoecology, fire ecology, genetics, and water quality in many environments, including internationally, for an internship in Brazil.Skills I have developed through my research include:- Coding in R to analyze and visualize data- Conveying and analyzing data through Microsoft Office, Tableau, and JMP- Collecting and evaluating water quality data- Microbiology and chemistry lab skills- Organizing, managing, and cleaning large data setsAlthough scientific research is my strong suit, teaching has allowed me to master my interpersonal skills. Through classroom management, I can effectively lead, communicate, present, and engage large audiences. I can also organize and plan long-term projects.I have held a variety of jobs that have provided me with a diverse set of experiences. In addition to being a second-year teacher, I have created multiple websites, exceeding my employer's expectations while taking classes full time. Additionally, I worked as an educational consultant to develop curriculums and as a general, organic, and quantitative chemistry tutor. My diverse skills and experiences have allowed me to excel in a career in education and will now allow me to succeed in my future endeavors. I am a young and highly motivated individual seeking an opportunity to widen my experiences and take the next step in my career.
