-Serve as the principle technical advisor to the III MEF AC/S G-6 and SPE OIC on allOver-The-Air (OTA) transport related matters.-Provide oversight of spectrum dependent platforms supporting the III MEF commandelement and major subordinate commands.-Design, engineer, and plan standardized OTA transport diagrams and equipment cutsheets, to be implemented into the Annex K and Operation plans.-Attend and participate in major operation planning conferences, as required.-Conduct technical analysis required to integrate OTA transport systems in thedevelopment of policy and National Security Agency security requirements.-Design, monitor, and enhance OTA integration plans by researching new technologies andcoordinating instructions to equipment operators upon fielding.-Serve as Joint Space Operations Functional Liaison, and advice the III MEF G-6 andcommanders, on all pertaining matters and functions.-Provide mentorship to subordinate Space and Waveform Integration Officers.

Perform duties as the MARFORRES Space & Propagation Engineering Officer, providingguidance on the employment and capabilities of all wide and narrowband communications.-Research, design, and implement new and emerging technologies into tactical networks toenhance command and control capabilities and functionality.-Assist in the comm planning at the MSC and MSE level to maximize training within MFR.-Assist in the development and implementation of the Annex K of OPLAN and OPORDs.-Prepare and submit Satellite Access Requests (SAR)/Gateway Access Request (GAR) forEHF and SHF communications systems to the Standard Tactical Entry Points.-Plan and coordinate with joint, civilian and DOD entities, higher, adjacent andSubordinate commands for the installation and management of all transmission systems andensured timely receipt of communications planning documents.-Represent MFR as lead comm planner at exercise planning conferences.-Develop & advance learning material covering Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations(EMSO), technical Signature Management (SIGMAN), & general comm planning.

-Serve as the battalion Subject Matter Expert and principle advisor on all systemsleveraging the electromagnetic spectrum to the Battalion Commander and OperationsOfficer.-Engineer Single Channel Radio, Multi-Channel Radio, SATCOM, and space dependentcommunication systems architecture in support of assigned exercises and operations.-De-conflict spectrum operations with host nation digital interoperability and waveformintegration.-Validate the implementation of respective network architecture as designed.-Provide network quality of service analysis, transmission optimization solution.-Develop transmissions network and verify system security implementation.-Draft, submit, and oversee satellite access request to include change managementprocedures within the battalion.-Provide support in development of the Battalion techniques tactics and standingoperating procedures.

-Advise the Operations Officer on all matters pertaining to transmissions, circuitintegration ISO training exercises, and tactical operations. -Plan, engineer and directthe installation, operation and maintenance of scalable, secure, reliable, and redundantcommunications network architectures ISO the Aviation Combat Element(ACE) of the MarineAir Ground Task Force (MAGTF). -Supervise the installation and operation of the WingTechnical Control Facility (TCF). -Coordinate with higher, adjacent, subordinate,supporting, and supported units to properly plan, engineer, and develop network diagramsand technical instructions for inclusion into operations orders, annexes, andappendices. -Assist with the development, modification, and tracking of Satellite AccessRequest/Gateway Access Request (SAR/GAR), GBS Mission Request (GMR) and networkdiagrams. -Ensure Marines of MWCS-38 have access to all relevant voting information and materials needed in order to properly vote in any election.

-Supports DISA NetOps Center (DNC) Europe DoD Information Network (DoDIN) operations-Oversees 60 military, civilian, and contract personnel in a Joint network facilityproviding real time management, control and operational direction of the 2.5 billiondollar enterprise supporting all European and African Bases, Camps, Posts, and Stations-Develops Tactical Training Procedures (TTP)and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) forthe DISA Europe Enterprise Operations Center (EOC)-Supervises eight Facility Control Officers (FCO), 112 Technical Control Facilities(TCF), and all ashore/afloat terminals accessing the Defense Satellite CommunicationsSubsystem (DSCS) Atlantic (east/west) and Indian Oceans-Manages projects associated with the DISA Europe EOC / DNC-Administers and update the training programs for Battle Captains (BC) System ControlOfficers (SCO) and Network Assurance Watch Officers (NAWO)-Ensures compliance orders from DISA Headquarters, Joint Forces Headquarters DODIN,United States European Command, and Cyber Command are implemented and enforced

-Install, operate, and maintain tactical and commercial-grade communications systems inorder to integrate voice, video, and data services into higher, adjacent, andsubordinate Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence () networksystems.-Monitor system performance and coordinate planning, installation, operation, andmaintenance of the communications network in support of Combat Logistics Regiment 27 andII Marine Logistics Group.-Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance on technical control equipment tolocate and remedied faults and degradations within the II MEF tactical network.-Advise the systems planning section and operations department in support of futureoperations.-Brief current network status and significant events to the operations department.-Formulate and supervise technical control watch rotations.-Formulate and supervise the conduct of technical control training.

-Technical Control Engineer for Central Office Telecommunications Branch MCB Quantico.-Platoon Sergeant for G-6 Telecommunications Branch.-Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) Nodal site coordinator for MCB Quantico.-Identify, Troubleshoot, and correct deficiencies that negatively affecttelecommunication readiness for all circuits running through and aboard MCB Quantico.-Engineer, install, and maintain all special circuits (SIPRNET, NIPRNET, and VOICE) onMCB Quantico and off base government facilities.-Maintain all DS0, DS1, DS3, OC-3, OC-12, OC-192,low speed, and toll free signals.-Responsible for all transactions with DISA (defense Information Systems Agency).-intermediary for all USMC and commercial providers (Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint) for alltransmissions and traffic.-Interface all transmissions via DMS-100 and SONET fiber optic ring while performinganalytical testing to clear outages or dedregation of service.-Monitor and maintain all local telecommunications nodes.

Technical controller Marinesoperate and maintain technical control equipment by performing tasks including equipment adjustments and replacingfaulty components/parts.Technical controller Marines operate technical control equipment to locate faults or degradation in communicationnetworks. They are in key positions to test transmission quality since most high-capacity communications circuits passthrough tech control equipment. Typical duties include testing of circuits to ensure circuit quality is maintained, repairfaults or degradation in communications networks, and maintain records on activation/deactivation of communicationslinks. Technical controller Marines operate and maintain tech control equipment by performing tasks includingequipment adjustments and replacing faulty components/parts.
