Frankham Consultancy Group provides a full range of design, engineering and consultancy services to the built environment. I worked in conjunction with the Group BIM Manager to ensure BIM compliance across the business, provide technical support to CAD and BIM related software and provide a technical BIM delivery service on large projects where a requirement for BIM auditing is present. Aid with ensuring compliance with the CAD/Microstation/BIM standards, software, hardware and training across the Group as well as providing technical support to all members of design teams.The role included overseeing of BIM models to ensure conformity against the DE documentation.

I was employed as a BIM Coordinator as part of a 200 person strong design team collaborating on the design of FAB10 and FAB24, Europe’s largest BIM project. As an Electrical Modeller I was in charge of coordinating with my team, mechanical teams and Trades in a fast-paced, high intensity environment in order to meet weekly deadlines. I represented Jones Electrical at various stages in the design process. Client Kick-Off meetings, Design Review, Field Walk Snags and Co-ordination Meetings. I used live P&ID’s taken from Autodesk Vault. I designed and routed various Electrical lines by creating working 3D models using Autodesk CADmep software. The model is clash tested through ‘Autodesk Navisworks’ and ‘Cloud Scans’ are carried out to ensure no clashes are apparent.Trade teams then undertake field walks to ensure there are no clashes on site. I produced isometrics for fabrication that included an accurate ‘Bill of Materials’ and finally produced install drawings to assist construction teams on site.
