• Hand selected to serve as a Special Assistant to the Deputy Director, Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. Specific responsibilities included:
• Directed policy formulation relating to the accession, training, assignment, and community management of all nuclear-trained officers in the U.S. Navy.
• Led Naval Reactors efforts for implementation of women in submarines and developed executable policies that contributed to successful integration.
• Oversaw the assignment of officers to all nuclear powered Navy ships to ensure strategic objectives were achievable with fully and properly manned ships.

USS Pennsylvania (SSBN 735)

Second in command for independent forward deployed submarine operations in support of national objectives. Responsible for the overall ship training program to certify the submarine for these operations. At the end of the operations, the submarine was awarded a high level unit award.

Responsible to the Commander, Submarine Squadron SEVEN for the material readiness of six nuclear attack submarines. Provide training and mentorship of submarine Engineer Officers on nuclear and non-nuclear engineering matters.

Executive manager for operations, maintenance, training and human resources for a nuclear submarine's Engineering Department which consisted of over 60 supervisors and technicians, both officers and enlisted. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all nuclear reactor plant, propulsion plant and auxiliary systems onboard a LOS ANGELES class fast.
