The School Safety Department team of 53 sworn law enforcement officers (Director, Assistant Chief, 2 lieutenants, 6 sergeants 43 deputies) and additional civilian staff provide professional law enforcement services to 37 Clay County public schools. Our Youth Services team provides service to our youth through our Police Athletic League and our Sheriff's Youth Explorer Program. Youth Services also contains our Crossing Guard Unit and our Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) team. Our VIPS are civilians who provide a wealth of job expertise in a volunteer capacity.

Responsible for budget management for both CCSO (1 million) and Clay County (2.75 million)designated funds in FY 21/22. Manage Records, Evidence, and Supply Units for the agency.

Chief of Community Affairs- Leader of Traffic, K9, Marine and Community Affairs Units. Supervised two (2) Sergeants, one (1) Detective, the Sheriff's Explorer Post, and the Police Athletic League, and crossing guards.Watch Commander- Patrol operations in the South Sector of the county. Detective Sergeant- SVU: Investigation of sexually based offenses: child & elderly abuse/neglect, and ICAC. Responsible for monitoring all registered sexual offenders/ predators. Detective Sergeant-Responsible for the investigation of all property crimes within the county.Juvenile Crimes Sergeant- Responsible for the SRO's, the PAL, and crossing guards. Certified SRO. Certified in Crisis Intervention through NOVA.Sergeant- East Sector DetectivesSergeant- Patrol/FTODetective- Criminal investigations, interviews and interrogations, sex crimes, and child abuse trained.Deputy (9/96- 10/97).

Lower Keys- District1

Traffic Division- Motors: Assigned to the Special Operations Division. Patrolled the Big Pine Key Deer Refuge. Responsible for traffic enforcement and crash/ traffic homicide investigations in the Lower Keys. Certified in the use of RADAR and LASER devices. Traffic Homicide Certified in 1996. Intoxilyzer 5000 operator certified.Big Pine Key Community Policing Deputy: Responsible for community policing based programs. Certified through the International Police Mountain Bike Association (IPMBA) as both a Police Cyclist and Cyclist Instructor. Implemented bicycle safety programs for the children in the Lower Keys, with an emphasis on the Big Pine Key area.Appeared on local t.v. ( Sheriff's Spotlight) to provide updates on crime trends and activity, and provide safety tips to citizens.Made radio public service announcements (PSA's) regarding pedestrian and motorist safety.Created/manned the first M.C.S.O. stop station in the Big Pine Winn Dixie (1992)Patrol Deputy- District 1:Patrolled the Lower Keys Big Pine Key to Key West. Responded to calls for service. Conducted criminal investigations. Was certified as a Field Training Officer (FTO)
