Duties: • Maintain an ethos appropriate to Adult Learning. • Plan, develop and manage the BTEI programme in consultation with the AEO. • Prepare documentation in relation to application for BTEI places /funding to the Further Education Section of the DES. • Develop an on-going working partnership with other KCETB Adult Education Services. • Design course programmes in consultation with the Adult Education and local partners. • Preparation of timetables. • Recruitment of students, including clearance with Social Welfare Office etc. Ensure that all students are BTEI eligible and that all documentation is correctly completed. • Recruit and select suitable tutors in consultation with the AEO. Obtain approval for their employment. • Support, develop and manage BTEI tutors and students. • Organise Student Support, including frontline Guidance and Counselling and liaison with KCETB/AEGS. • Entering students for assessment, examinations and accreditation as appropriate. Management of examination entries and fees, security and presentation of examination portfolios. Management of facilities and other requirements for assessment. • Monitor progression, review programmes and make recommendations with a view to delivery of an accessible, relevant and effective BTEI programme. • Developing progression networks to assist the progression of BTEI participants to employment and/or education and training. • Manage resources, e.g. finance, materials, equipment, premises etc. • Develop outreach strategies and centres • Keep tutor, student and financial records and systems and other data. • Prepare reports and submissions in consultation with the AEO/CE as appropriate. • Maintain participants’ records as per BTEI guidelines. • Promote the BTEI programme through networking, raising awareness and publicity. • Liaise with relevant voluntary and statutory bodies and local employers.
