Director Campus Center & Dining Services & Facilities
De Anza Dining Services is one of the few remaining self operated community college food services and campus center operations in California serving the 26,000 students, faculty and staff. The campus is located 45 miles south of San Francisco; De Anza College occupies a 112-acre site in Cupertino in the heart of Silicon Valley and is one of the largest, single-campus community colleges in the country.De Anza Dining Services is a self supporting Community College managed auxiliary service receiving no subsidy from the government obtaining revenues through our retail, catering and conference services. The De Anza food court caterers between 2200 - 2800 transactions a day providing a wide range of "Just in time" food choices. We are 100% biodegradable and use several organic local farms for our produce. The food court operations is complimented with three outside independent vendors, Le Cafe, Specialty Coffee and Una Mas Mexican giving the operation a diverse variety of food choices in turn matching our student, faculty and staff clientele. The director and his staff coordinate facility rental and conferences for in house and external clients. In 2007 under the direction of the director, De Anza Dining took first place nationwide in the the mid school category in the National Association of College Food Services (NACUFS) Loyal E Horton Dining Award in the Retail Sales & Multiple Concepts Outlets.In 2014 I implemented the first (we believe) Institutional Culinary Program (Vocational Industrial Cooking) in the USA partnering with OTI (Occupational Training Institute) at De Anza and Cal works clients with a goal of retooling the individual specifically for a large quantity operation. At this point we have certified four students who all have jobs waiting for them at the end of the program. DeAnza College Dining Service is dedicated in continuing to strive and create innovative culinary creations for the campus.

Vibrant operation with 8 million in sales. Multi faceted, with upscale Business and Industry Hospitality profile. Three full scale food service operations, two satellite operations, faculty restaurant, upmarket executive education catering (3 mil) and several food carts. Staff of 150 excluding part time. Cater up to 4,500 plated for commencement using mobile facilities.
Associate Director Residental Dining
Responsible for managing the operations of California Institute of Technology’s Resident Board program catering up to 1800 meals per day. Oversee budget of $2.1 million dollars. Plan and organized the production and creativity of cyclic menus. Direct a staff of six assistant managers, 31 full-time and 6 part-time employees. Maintain high profile and communication with students and university faculty. Implemented “Cybord” menu management software. Created and implemented new Asian Bistro concept including Chinese, Indian, Vegan, Japanese and Asian American Cuisine. Received NACUFS Loyal E. Horton Dining Award 1999.
