Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Performs field inspections of parking meters to determine their condition; investigates and diagnoses difficulties with meter mechanism; prioritizes maintenance activities and decides on appropriate action; collects and tabulates data from meters; coordinates renumbering and removal of meters. Installs, removes, and repairs parking meter devices; monitors and performs preventative maintenance according to established standards; performs accurate measures for installment .Designs, Installs and maintains parking requirement signs in compliance with applicable code. Maintains meters by cleaning, repairing and replacing worn or defective parts; disassembles and reassembles meters; repaints housings; replaces defective parking meter locks and keys. Coordinates and reviews specialized repairs from outside sources. Tests meters for proper performance and accuracy; calibrates, tests and adjusts timing mechanisms; programs meter mechanisms and makes other required changes such as time limits and parking rates. Removes coins from meters; tracks dates and amounts of coins removed and makes bank deposits. Assists with development and evaluation of revenue collection process. Maintains computerized inventory and maintenance system for parking meters and parts; maintains daily work records; maintains stock of replacement parts; prepares related statistics and reports. Researches and evaluates parking meters; purchases a variety of meters and supplies; may coordinate purchases with private sector firms. Responsible for security of meter keys and collected meter revenue.Performs general facility maintenance as well as maintain PARCS systems with in parking structures. Performs minor landscape maintenance, including trimming and removal of vegetation hazards in the public right-of-way to keep meters and signs free of obstructions
