As the design team leader, I was responsible for the static events management of University of Florence’s Formula SAE team, the "Firenze Race Team". I was also in charge of the bureaucracy and the car components database, a comprehensive set of instructions to catalog every component of the vehicle. In september 2015 we took part in the Italian Formula SAE event, where we classified 7th overall and 3rd best Italian team. Here, I arranged and directed the design presentation event with which the team reached the 5th place. During this event we were awarded the Lamborghini award for "Best use of active chassis system", thanks to our semi-active differential. At the end of the year I left the team, in order to focus on my studies. In 2016 the Firenze Race Team classified 3rd overall, resulting as the best Italian team and reaching 30th position in the world ranking.

I joined the ranks of "Firenze Race Team", the Formula SAE team of the University of Florence, at the end of 2011, as they were starting to think about their next car. I was assigned to the wheels and tires group and began modelling, with 3D CAD software, the new suspensions uprights, which eventually turned out to be my Bachelor's degree thesis work. In the 2013 season, we participated to the Formula Student UK event and classified 3rd overall in Class 2. Here, as the wheel group chief, I took part in the design presentation event. I continued working on the uprights, chose the material and manufacturing process and studied their structural behaviour by means of FEM analyses. The components were eventually produced and installed on the vehicle, with which we competed in the 2015 Italian event. To date, they are still mounted and working, although the car is only used as a test bench.
