I am a Chartered Engineer with a background in project managing Flood Defence projects for the Environment Agency. Gaining CEng status through the Environment Agency's ICE approved Graduate Training Scheme - I gained good experience in a strategic co-ordination role in Flood Incident Management; designing and planning intermittent and maintenance works, and project managing major capital flood defence projects. During my time at the Environment Agency, I enjoyed secondments to both Team Van Oord (as Site Engineer on Steart Managed Realignment project), and Royal Haskoning DHV (as Graduate Engineer on various design projects).After spending six years with the Environment Agency, I joined CH2M (now Jacobs) in a Senior Engineer role to begin a new challenge - swapping Somerset for London and taking the lead client facing role for CH2M on major Flood Defence projects. Having been at CH2M for a year, I was appointed as Matrix Manager for the 20-strong London Water team.After being at Jacobs for two years, I moved to Ireland where I continued to work with Jacobs for a further two years, this time from the Dublin office on a variety of Flood Defence projects in both England and Ireland. This included undertaking the flood risk assessment and design of mitigation measures on multiple major infrastructure projects in Ireland.In 2020, having spent ten years working in flood risk management in private and public sector, I took up a position as Climate Adaptation Lead within the Flood Risk Management section of the Office of Public Works, responsible for delivering the Sectoral Adaptation Plan for Flood Risk Management.In 2023, I took on a new role as Head of Coastal within the Office of Public Works.
