UT Southwestern Harold C. Simmons Cancer Center is an NCI designated cancer center. As Associate Director, my role provided executive financial leadership for the comprehensive programs including research, education, and patient care. Created active budget review process, implemented data mining capabilities, transitioned from clinic to hospital based program, and coached revenue cycle improvement projects impacting cancer service line, pharmacy, and multi-disiplinary clinic. Implemented culture change programs to achieve a world-class experience in the fight against cancer. Reported directly to Associate Vice President Cancer Programs, and Associate Director Research Administration.

The departments included revenue cycle; scheduling, admissions, health information management, and financial services. In addition, support services departments; purchasing, environmental services, telecommunications, security, volunteer staffing, and thrift shop. Created cross functional teams to achieve dramatic hospital wide efficiencies including revenue cycle, capital expenditure and surgical operations financial improvement.
