Responsible for designing the entire paper, including headline writing, copy editing and photo editing, as well as shooting all sports photographs and videos.

My responsibilities have included writing game stories and features while covering high school football and other sports topics. While working for the newspaper I was trained in the Associated Press style of writing.

During my time at Texas A&M''s student newspaper, The Battalion, I have accumulated a vast amount of knowledge and experience about not only sports writing, but writing in general. I have written for nearly every sport at Texas including men’s and women''s basketball, hockey, baseball, swimming, equestrian, soccer and racquetball. Also, I have covered many beats during my time at The Battalion, including the 2009 men’s and women’s NCAA outdoor track and field champions. Sports has not only been my area of concentration. I have also written stories and features for the city and news desks.

Responsibilities include transcription of interviews, attendance at press conferences, assistance with recruiting databases of football and basketball.Along with my time at The Battalion, I spent many hours at press conferences asking questions and learning the valuable intangibles of being a sports writer to help round out my prior experiences. Those include how to ask intelligent questions, how to be knowledgeable of the sport and situation, preparation for interviews, knowledge on sports in all mediums. Those mediums include print, radio, online and broadcast.
