I am passionate about preserving New Zealand's natural environment and taonga species, as well as contributing to conservation goals such as Predator Free 2050. I am continually eager to develop skills that can be used to promote positive biodiversity outcomes.In 2023, I graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours majoring in Biology and Environmental Science. My honours project involved investigating behavioural differences between native and introduced birds in New Zealand. To supplement my degree with practical conservation skills, I worked as a biosecurity ranger at Applied Biosecurity Solutions controlling invasive plant and animals species. I now work as an Intern Zookeeper with Auckland Zoo to further develop my skills as a conservationalist. My hope is that my work and past studies will provide tools that can be used to help preserve New Zealand's taonga species in the future. Outside of my studies, my interests include tramping, trail running, bouldering and rogaining (a type of orienteering).
