I have just completed the MBA in leadership studies with The Open University which I am studying as part of the Senior Leaders' Masters Degree Apprenticeship (SLMDA) along side my role as a clinical lead. I am enjoying my role at The London Ambulance Service as a Senior Clinical Lead Paramedic. My role includes developing new models of care, improving organisational culture, stakeholder management, quality improvement and providing clinical opinions. Alongside that I provide support and advice to clinicians as part of a 24/7 clinical on call rota. Over the past two years I have led on the introduction of video conferencing for patients with stroke symptoms. This links Paramedics on scene with the patient with specialists in neurology. I have also introduced a specialised remote support line for Paramedics who are treating elderly, frail patients. Linking them with a consultant in medicine for the elderly. As well as my work with the LAS I work with the professional regulator for Health Care Professionals as a registrant panellist deliberating on fitness to practice cases.
