I have been in education for over 20 years. I started my career as a Physical Education and Health Instructor in Detroit, MI. After teaching for five years, I decided to transition to back office work while serving as a Business Manager for a Detroit Charter School. I would later bolster my professional experience in back office work while serving as a Human Resource Specialist, Board Liaison for a Charter Management Company, and After School Coordinator. Serving in these capacities led to me becoming a Campus Operational Manager for a K-12 Charter School, serving more than 1,200 students. In this role, I was responsible for transportation, food service, procurement, State reporting, and human resources,I currently work for Detroit Public Schools Community District, where I worked in Grants as a Program Supervisor. In this capacity, I was responsible for monitoring over 100 million in public and private grants, ensuring compliance and responsible spending. After serving in this role for four years, I moved on to the role of Senior Procurement and Contracting Specialist.
