Responsibilities included providing strategic, policy, and political advice to the Federal Minister of Veterans Affairs

Additional responsibilities included accompanying Minister to NATO meetings abroad; accompanying Minister on visits to Canada's military theatres of operation in Afghanistan, Bosnia, among others; liaising with the Office of the Prime Minister and the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs; and liaising with foreign embassies in Ottawa.
