My passion has always been problem solving. Whenever I've been confronted with a hurdle, I've put in the effort to learn the problem, identify the root causes, and strive for a resolution. That's what drove me into my fascination with Data Science, and learning how to tell a story from a selection of numbers and variables. My name is Pat Jones, and I have been an Operations Research Analyst with the United States Army for the last 7 years. I've spent almost 6 years with the Communications and Electronics Command, and I've spent the previous year with the Combat Capabilities Developmental Command. I am a graduate of the University of Maryland (Go Terps!) with a Bachelors of Science in Economics, while minoring in Statistics. I came on as an intern in 2018, and I have risen up the ranks to a Senior Analyst as of May 2024.My professional skills primarily center around my ability to both parse, analyze, and present large scopes of data. I have a professional background in working with different programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL dating back to my time in college, as well as developing dashboarding and reporting methods within business intelligence tools such as Power BI and Tableau. Specifically as a federal cost analyst, I am also experienced working within platforms such as ACEIT, VANTAGE, and ADVANA to conduct data reporting and research. My career goals pertain to solving the biggest financial issues of our modern military, while demonstrating myself as a leader to those around me. I strive to be a leading knowledge about the methodology and regulations pertinent to my profession, and to one day become an organizational leader in setting an standard for analytics and reliabilityPlease feel free to reach out and connect!
