I am passionate about the role technology plays in an organization. The impact of technology grows exponentially when you have the right resources in place that allow people to do their work at a higher level, allow students to learn at a higher level and allow the organization as a whole to function at a higher level. Technology cannot have an impact on its own; it must be selected, implemented, managed and supported with thought and care. I enjoy understanding the needs of stakeholders and serving those needs with the right technology solutions. Behind any good technology ecosystem there must be good people who care about supporting the technology their stakeholders rely on. My passion is to build and lead those teams. I believe in cultivating a flexible, service oriented mindset where stakeholder’s questions and requests are met with knowledge and enthusiasm by IT staff. I also believe it is critical to support those teams through the proper training, tools and professional resources.The vast majority of my work has been in K-12 education. While working in public education comes with its own set of unique challenges, the work is very rewarding. When I was a student, I relied heavily on technology as part of my “toolkit” in the classroom. Technology tools provided to me allowed me to communicate, explore and learn in ways that simply wouldn’t have been otherwise possible. Now, I get to be part of providing those same resources to today’s students while also supporting the resources used by the staff who teach them.
