Patrick is currently an independent consultant and advisor. He retired from ASM Pacific Technology Limited in May 2017 as an independent and non-executive board of director.Patrick joined Royal Philips in February 2008 as Executive Vice President and was appointed CEO of Philips Greater China in October 2008. He became a member of the Executive Committee of Royal Philips in July 2011. Patrick retired from Royal Philips in January, 2016.Prior to joining Philips, Patrick was with Motorola for 27 years gaining extensive global general management experience, with particular expertise in the Asia and China market. He started his career as an engineer focused on product development and operations, including developing Motorola’s alphanumeric paging and two-way paging businesses.In 1996, Patrick established and managed Motorola’s paging manufacturing joint venture in Shanghai. While based in Asia from 1996 to 2007, Patrick held key management positions with increasing responsibility for the sales, marketing, and development of Motorola’s personal communications business. In 2003, he was elevated to Corporate VP and General Manager responsible for the cell phone business for the North Asia region. From 2005 to 2007, as Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Strategic Growth Engines, Patrick led Motorola’s global efforts in the development of ultra low-cost mobile devices with a vision to provide universal accessibility for mobile communication. Patrick holds a BSEE degree from Tatung Institute of Technology in Taiwan and an MSEE degree from Tennessee Tech University in the U.S. He was granted four U.S. patents for innovations in paging early in his career.
