S&J Motors Incorporated is an auto body repair facility, wholesaler, and rebuilder. There are several positions at S&J Motors that I was in charge of. I was first hired as a wrecked or repaired car salesman, due to my reputation and experience in the automotive industry. The company was going through some treacherous times, due to the country’s economic status, ultimately resulting in my advancement to both positions as shop manager and salesman. My duties were as listed: all sales and delivery; insuring everyone is on time, working safely, responsibly, and productively; all vehicles repaired met high quality guidelines; ordering and dispatching of all parts necessary; maintaining a clean and safe work environment; making and training other associates on difficult repairs; all internet updates and sales leads from which; helping anyone having trouble at home or work as needed; and working with the other associates in what little spare time was left. All these jobs seem impossible, but I had an assistant, a lot of ambition, worked long hours, and had a toll free number transferred to my cell phone at all times. Since my employment at S&J I have found a more economical way to buy vehicles; an outlet for repaired vehicles that did not sell at S&J’s car lot; completely redesigned their internet site to be much more interactive; established a presence with “State Farm’s Service First Program”; and brought our production level up.

I started out at Arnold’s Auto Service as an automotive technician, after working one year and six months at Talladega Auto Specialists. My duties were as follows: troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing all mechanical and drivability problems occurring on a vehicle. Using a large range of tools from hand held scanners to primary and secondary oscilloscopes. Before leaving, I was promoted to shop manager. As shop manager I made sure all associates had work and were paid accordingly, while repairing as many vehicles as possible myself. I also made sure all repairs were proper, safe, and met requirements. All customers, complaints, and repair costs, were my responsibility as well.

My first professional job in the automotive industry started here. Hired part time to pick up parts and perform maintenance. My first week resulted in a pay increase and becoming a full time employee. My duties were to diagnose and repair minor engine and electrical problems. After a year had passed, I made all repairs, from complete engine overhauls to diagnosing and replacing engine computes.
