I have worked in the automotive industry for over 30 years. I have held positions of increasing responsibility over that time frame. For most of those 30+ years, I worked for AGC Automotive, an OEM supplier of automotive safety glass. My time at AGC was a roughly a 50-50 split in production and QA. In production, I was a Specialist for 10 years, where I utilized Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools to maximize KPI's for three production lines. My time in QA has been spent mostly dealing directly with the OEM's. I have been to and seen our products in action in over 25 different automobile manufacturing plants in 5 countries. I have worked with the Japanese and European "transplants", the Big Three, as well exciting new start-ups such as Tesla. I wrapped up my tenure at AGC as a Quality Specialist, responsible for quality improvement intitiatives at next shipping locations as well as at the OEM carmakers.I have worked as an independent consultant for Coatings and Concepts, developing a QMS for their expansion into automotive industrial coatings.My latest challenge is in the Logistics area of the automotive industry, working for Midwest Express, Inc as a new model planning supervisor in the KD Export Operation.
