As Creative Services Manager, I am the head of the Creative Services side of the Communications and Creative Services Department for the City of Myrtle Beach. I shoot and edit videos for the city’s social media pages and for internal use.

I anchored WMBF News’ Noon and 4 p.m. newscasts and turned weekly feature stories for our good news series called This Is Carolina. Prior to this role, I anchored just the Noon newscast and turned primarily hard news stories out in the field for the evening newscasts. Prior to that, I anchored our weekend evening newscasts at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. and turned primarily hard news stories on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.

I turned multiple versions of the same story and sometimes multiple stories for WMBF News when I worked as a Reporter/MMJ. I shot all my own video, edited my own video and wrote all my own scripts. I spent around a year as the nightside reporter, turning content at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. and in many cases in the earlier newscasts at 4 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. as well. I covered lots of breaking news as well since a lot of it seemed to happen in the afternoon or evening.

I started working at First Coast News as a video editor, but that role changed over time to eventually become an editor/photographer. Primary duties included editing video for the morning newscasts, shooting live shots for reporters on weekend mornings and floor directing in the studio for the morning newscasts when needed. I also turned PKGs occasionally toward the end of my time at First Coast News. I worked at FCN while I was in my final two years of studying at the University of North Florida.

As Police Reporter, I wrote about the crime happening on the campus of the University of North Florida for Spinnaker News’ website. The job consisted of developing and maintaining a good relationship with UNFPD officials, especially the Chief, taking police reports and writing web stories about what the reports described and working with my editor on how to best deliver the best product to our news consumers. I worked as Police Reporter at the same time I worked as the News Director for Spinnaker Television.

As News Director, I was in charge of Spinnaker Television’s daily newscast, which aired every weekday morning. I managed a team of about 10-15 volunteers who all played a part in getting the newscast on air. I produced the daily newscast by choosing which stories would air, writing the stories and editing video for the stories. I also frequently shot video for the newscasts as needed.
