Selected to participate in the North Shore LIJ William Randolph Hearst Critical Care Nursing Fellowship • Responsible for treating a magnitude of patients with varying pathological conditions including hemodynamic instability, sepsis, multi-organ system failure, respi- ratory failure, acute or chronic renal failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, and pulmonary embolisms requiring vasoactive drugs and life support. • Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care in the criti- cal care environment • Proficient in monitoring/assessing echocardiograms. 
 • Proficient in participating in clinical decision making, using information obtained from physical assessment, laboratory values, and invasive monitoring devices including central lines, arterial lines, and ICP monitoring. 
• Responsible for the titration of vasopressors, inotropes, sedative-hyp- notics, and neuromuscular blocking agents while monitoring various vital signs regarding titration criteria. • Care for patients during Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and therapeutic hypothermia. • Initiation, management and transition of ventilated patients off of various ventilator support systems according to clinical assessment and other test results. • Proficient in delivering conscious and deep sedation for bed side proce- dures using vasopressors, inotropes, sedative-hypnotics, and neuromuscular blocking agents • Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients who have the following: chest tubes, arterial catheters, peripherally inserted central catheters, central, intravenous and various dialysis catheters. • Proficient in interpreting various data from central lines and arterial catheters and administering fluid resuscitation according to the various results. • Proficient in venous access- drawing blood, starting intravenous lines.

 • Preceptor for new employees and students for many different services, en- forcing concepts in surgical conscience, sterile technique, gross anatomy and physiology and instrumentation. 
• Educated employees regarding the anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and appropriate instrumentation and hardware pertaining to the brain and spine pathogen- esis. • Clinical experience including general, gynecologic, otorhinolaryngologic, genitourinary, orthopedic, oral-maxillofacial, head and neck, breast, neurological, plastic and reconstructive and laparoscopic surgical procedures, peripheral vascular, podiatry and spine surgery. • Scrubbed as part of the Trauma Team- Ortho, General, Neurovascular brain and spine. • Experience working with Synthes, Smith & Nephew, Stryker, Zimmer and Depuy systems. • Pre-operative preparation skills include: securing/arranging equipment; create and maintain the sterile field; open sterile supplies; meticulously organizes sterile field; performs necessary counts; sterile skin prep. • Intra-operative procedural skills include: draping; assisting the surgeon and assistant in donning sterile attire; passes instruments/supplies; maintains organized Mayo stand/back table; maintains sterility throughout the procedure; maintains surgical count as operating; properly cares for specimen; performs closing counts; applies sterile dressings. • Post-operative procedural skills include: disassembling of the sterile field; properly disposes of all sharps; prepares instruments for decontamination; disposes of all one-use items; assisted with transferring the patient from the operating table to the gurney; turns over room for the next operation.
