Retired 30 June 2016 from the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) as General Manager of the largest Exchange worldwide on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. AAFES is a part of the DOD with a mission to make the lives of Soldiers & Airmen better through the goods and services we offer. Our operations include Shopping Complexes, C-Stores, Food, Theater & Service Operations. I have held a variety of positions throughout my career with AAFES, each with additional responsibilities and scopes, successfully operating some of the largest Main Stores & Exchanges. Presently, I oversee more than 256 facilities and supervising over 1200 managers & associates which generated over $250 million in sales for Fiscal Year 2015.In addition to my General Manager duties and with a knack of thinking outside the box, I have been planning & executing celebrity events to support the military since 1988; working over 3,000 events working with high level names such as: Bob Hope (3 times), Patrick Swayze, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, WWE, Lynrd Skynyrd, Duck Dynasty & Jessica Simpsion, Pit Bull, Alyssa Milano, UFC, NFL and many more.I work with Military Command closely to ensure that we as the Exchange are able to serve those who serve us to the best of our abilities by attending Command Meetings, Real Property & Master PlanningOver my career, I have developed, trained, coached & mentored over 500 managers for future development which I have seen several further their careers & have become executives themselves. Through the years, I have acquired a good understanding of principles & practices to event planning that a “how-to” book cannot teach you. I can confidently say that with my career in the retail field, marketing & advertising, involvements with the Military Community & experiences with the execution of high level events, the impact I have to any business will be a positive one.
