Patrick Mann is a Charter Engineer and a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), the Institute of Risk Management (IRM), and the Register of Security Engineers and Specialists (RSES). He has spent the last almost 20 years working within the area of extreme natural and man-made hazards across numerous industries including the insurance, defence, nuclear, oil & gas and manufacturing sectors. Specific experience includes: Hazard identification and maximum probable loss assessments; Seismic assessment and design of structures, systems and components; Security risk assessment; Consequence and QRA studies for petrochemical and chemical facilities; Blast assessment and design of buildings for accidental and terrorist explosion events.In 2011 he founded a new risk engineering consultancy that focuses on the assessment and mitigation of major hazard events.
