Patrick Marcus, MD, RPVI, was born and raised in Oakland, California, where he developed an early interest in science and medicine. He moved to the Pacific Northwest to complete his undergraduate training in Biochemistry at Seattle University where he graduated with multiple honors. During his college studies he planned, guided, and published multiple research projects to better predict onset and risk of development of Type 1 diabetes mellitus. He then started his medical training in Chicago at Loyola University, where he graduated with honors in 2015 followed by a return to the Pacific Northwest, where he completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Washington. During a two year hospitalist career, he worked with some of the most vulnerable populations in Seattle and the surrounding communities providing exemplary care as both a general hospitalist and ICU nocturnist. After working on the front-lines in the ICU during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Marcus then joined the world-renowned Texas Heart Institute to pursue his fellowship training in both General and Interventional Cardiology.Dr. Marcus' education at the Texas Heart Institute has emphasized direct, hands-on training in peripheral, coronary and structural interventions. Specifically, Dr. Marcus has completed supplemental training in peripheral vascular interventions including EVAR, carotid stenting, DVT/PE intervention, and complex PAD including CLI interventions. Dr. Marcus is board-certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also board-certified in Adult Comprehensive Echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography and Registered Peripheral Vascular Interpretation by the Alliance for Physician Certification & Advancement.
