About Patrick Marsters

Currently, I am working as a Desktop Support Engineer for Virtuelle Group. Working for VG involves supporting clients in a hybrid support environment. I am the sole engineer based in New Zealand so my role involves helping users resolve issues in person and remotely. Support ranges from Networking, Server, Hardware, Mobile, Printers, etc.I previously worked as a contracting Systems Engineer for Sanford Limited. During my time at Sanford, I learned a lot and expanded my knowledge of the IT industry, I gained experience using O365 tools, e.g. MS 365 Admin Center, Azure AD, Endpoint Manager, Exchange, and Security & Compliance. I also developed hardware setup skills by setting up desks, monitors, and laptops. My first role in the IT industry was as a Help Desk Analyst for Datacom. As a Help Desk Analyst, I learned how to create, assign, triage, and resolve tickets and developed an understanding of how SLAs work and their impact on customer expectations and personal performance. While at Datacom I progressed into Shift Lead and Senior Analyst roles, working in these roles helped me develop management skills as I had to manage my colleagues when it came to assigning tasks, taking lunch, and motivating them to stay on task.
