ResponsibilitiesIdeation, economics and feasibility, engineering calculations and modeling, scope documentation (1000+ pages) and specifications, safety analysis, management of change (version control), process startup, monitoring, and troubleshooting, statistical analysis of process conditions Project ExperienceAnalyze and break bottlenecks in a flame retardant plant via process optimizations and series of capital projects ($400M/yr production increase)Plantwide bottleneck analysis for an acid gas stream with many users. Add manual tracking, instrumentation, and predictive modeling to use resource efficiently ($300M/yr savings)Design an acid gas storage tank system to provide a raw material buffer ($200M/yr savings)Feasibility exploration, scoping, documentation of 50+ cost savings projects ($700M/yr savings)Mentor interns (3) and new hires (2) on documentation best practices and checking calculationsDocumentation: Write process documentation for a flame retardant plant (300+ pages), document startup and shutdown procedure for undocumented plants (100+pages), management of change documentation (100+ pages), equipment specs (200+pages).Startup and commissioning team member for >$2MM project.Experience with:ChemCAD/PIPE-FLO, OSIsoft PI ProcessbookTechnical communication including scope packages, P&ID markup, engineering economics, SAP, operating/commissioning/startup procedures, sequencing and graphics revisions, equipment specifications.Heat transfer and pressure drop calculations. Heat exchanger sizing, pump sizing, and PSV sizing.Emissions calculations and documentation. Plant-wide material balance and bottleneck identification on complex multi-user process streams. OEE improvement.
