Close Protection Operative

• Tasked with providing Close Protection to VVIP’s including the Prime Minister during his visit to Camp Bastion, Christmas 2013.• Responsible for the liaison of the USMC at FOB Musa Qaleh at all levels to enable me to fully understand the ground and situation, so that my client was able to fulfil his obligations to meeting GIRoa officials, District Community Council members, local influential Elders, District Police Commanders, ANA Commanders, as well as monitoring projects on the ground which included site visits with the assistance and cooperation of the USMC.• Responsible for site security at FOB Musa Qaleh • Maintaining the camp logistics to enable the smooth running of the DST at FOB Musa Qaleh by refuelling generators, general maintenance and logistics such as organising fresh food deliveries to the FOB.• Tasked with the packing up and closure of FOB Musa Qaleh, where within a set time frame, I achieved the aim of dismantling and packing up the majority of the DST.• At FOB Musa Qaleh, I was responsible for the day to day running and security of the Client Compound in lieu of the Team Leader when he was on leave, ensuring that all training, equipment, tasking and work forms were completed• Providing Armed Close Protection to various Clients associated with the Foreign Commonwealth Office in support of the Provisional Reconstruction Teams within the Lashkar Gah District and at the Forward Operating Base in Musah Qaleh in Helmand Province. • Providing the role of Individual Body Guard (IBG) in the armed role to said Clients, ensuring that they are fully conversant and aware of their surroundings and providing personal protection to them at all times.• Driving said Clients in armoured vehicles in a challenging and sometimes hostile environment whilst also responsible for navigation to and from the venues. • Completed thorough reconnaissance of future venues.
