Led contract division (B2B) of PE backed Groome Transportation providing passenger transportation services for corporate, higher education and medical communities across the US. Collaborated regularly with C-suite and the Board of Directors to develop and define the strategic business direction of the Contract division. Responsible for leading operational services, P&L, sales, client relationships, fleet maintenance, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration/ Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance, recruiting and talent development.

Midwest Region

Led food service and facility maintenance operations for Senior Living facilities across the Midwest. Responsible for client relationship, contract adherence/ service delivery, recruiting and talent building. Planned team objectives and ensured management was in compliance with corporate, regional and financial goals as well as food safety and federal regulations (CMS). Tripled portfolio during tenure through organic sales, inorganic sales and was awarded struggling operations that needed transformation.

Midwest, United States

Project engineer role was effectively an “firefighter” role created to combat operational and relationship challenges. Created and implemented breakthrough operational solutions to resolve customer service, compliance and profitability issues. Traveled throughout the division across the US to resolve challenges at President/ RVP assigned locations where the client relationship was jeopardized. Credited with saving multiple relationships. Created, hired, trained and led new business opening team consisting of 25 direct reporting “Startup Ninjas” (managers, dieticians, hr professionals and chefs). Only held this position for 7 months until RVP requested promotion to Regional Director of Operations.

Depaul University (Chicago, Illinois)

Oversaw daily operational execution, labor and cost of goods management, community engagement and marketing for multi-faceted, multi-site accounts including catering. Managed approximately 145 Union and 15 non-Union associates. Responsible for supporting client relationship success, contract adherence/ service delivery, inventory management and talent building. Involved in costing and bidding new contracts including but not limited to menu costing and labor analysis. Partnered with Labor Relations to successfully negotiate CBAs.

Noble Charter Schools (Chicago, Illinois)

Led food service programs for 13 units and approximately 25,000 total meals per day. Ensured program adheres to policies and procedures to meet National School Lunch Program (NSLP), state and health department requirements. Responsible for client relationship, contract adherence/ service delivery, recruiting and talent building. Provided students with appetizing, nutritional meals in sanitary, pleasant environments and promoted positive learning. Transitioned this business from competitor: recruited and trained over 80 new staff members including hourly and salaried associates. Partnered with Labor Relations to successfully negotiate CBAs. Involved in costing and bidding new contracts including menu costing, labor analysis and Performa reviews.

Chicago Public Schools (Chicago, Illinois)

Oversaw food service programs for 26 Chicago Public Schools (CPS). Led multiple units through federal and state audits with a 100% success rate. Implemented new culinary programs in conjunction with the Chartwells marketing and culinary team. Acted as a liaison between Chartwells, CPS leadership, the school administration, staff, students and the community.

Oversaw day-to-day operations, inclusive, but not limited to, the deployment of a strategically laid out staffing schedule of 100+ employees from open to close. Assisted the company in meeting and exceeding sales goals by maintaining and building current customer relationships while also developing new relationships and revenues. Worked with staff to continue an ongoing education of the product offerings in an effort to grow revenue and profit levels.
