Over the past 20 years I have been President of my own consulting business that proudly provides business systems analysis services. In nearly 20 years, I have proactively developed and maintained billion dollar public finance systems. Services include management of bonds, various financial instruments, debt service and budget administration, budget cash flow and debt analysis to name a few things I am passionate about. I love the details and my obsession with following a process through to ensure what I have envisioned and promised is accurate and effective. Prior to going into business for myself, I worked for several years as the Business Manager for a non-profit in Madison, PICADA (Prevention & Intervention Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse). This is where I learned about grass roots efforts, to listen compassionately and to relentlessly advocate for the rights of others. It is here, that I learned to do more with less and the true impact of allocating limited but necessary resources. My pursuit of serving continues as Board President of the Design Coalition Institute (DCI) and Treasurer of the Madison-Obihiro (Japan) Sister City Board. My strong belief in fairness, equity, and opportunity for all is what continues to inspire me to be in public service.

  I represent District 34 which includes the Village of McFarland and the Town of Dunn, a population of more than 13,000. McFarland borders Madison's southeast. The Town of Dunn is south of McFarland and has some of the most productive farmland in the county. A feature of the district is the Yahara River chain that feeds Upper Mud Lake, Lake Waubesa, Lower Mud Lake, Lake Kegonsa and the surrounding wetlands.On the County Board, I stood strong against powerful forces to keep the dangerous bio-defense lab from locating in the Town of Dunn. I helped secure one of the largest federal grants of its type to get the Lower Yahara River Trail built. I championed the Better Urban Infill Development grant program that helped transform sites like the former, contaminated Royster-Clark property. I stood up for Dane County residents concerned about risks posed by Enbridge Pipeline’s plans to triple the amount of tar sands oil flowing through Line 61.
