Chemical Mixing Process Engineer
Responsibilities:-Oversee and engage in all aspects of manufacturing from ordering raw materials through shipping-Scheduling and planning production-Acquire the necessary raw materials for production based on customers projections and forecast. Minimum of 3 month planning as most materials are shipped from overseas. Must be flexible enough to cover order cancellations and modifications as well as new customers.-Work directly with mixing operator to ensure safety(including use of PPE and monitoring health where applicable) and assist production.-Translate small scale mixing experiments to large scale production. Includes making new and revising old work instructions to ensure quality and consistency of product in every batch.-Quality testing of all finished products for certification.-Work directly with sales department to communicate with customers to push for for forecasts and answer any production related questions or concerns.-Work with accounting to report purchase orders, sales, invoices, and shipping for raw material and finished product.-Regular preventative maintenance on all equipment on the manufacturing floor as well as lab equipment.-Use of high performance liquid chromatography as well as a scanning electron microscope to inspect final product and troubleshoot potential quality issues.Achievements:-Implemented a programmed inventory system using excel to achieve max efficiency for production while minimizing the cost of shipping.-Improved the safety protocol for chemical mixing operator.

Perform a variety of tests on the physical properties on a variety of conveyor belt and their systems including, ultimate tensile, rips, tears, fatigue due to stress and heat. Worked alongside engineers to design and develop procedures of new equipment and products. Project Goal: Design build and optimize Loop Detection Inserts to monitor belt systems and be able to use information to take necessary preventative measures to ensure longer life to the system.Responsibilities: Test a range of materials that could be used in inserts by designing different samples to test different properties and optimize the performance of loops. Tests include: Cold weather (-40 ºC), Fatigue, and loop detection testing and their combinations. Maintain a project schedule and delivering results to engineers for final analysis and implementation.Experience with Bluehill software: Can write and program scripts as well as operate existing ones.Knowledge of Instron machines and their ability to take force measurements at distance elongations.Other equipment familiarity includes: MTS Machine, Hydraulic Press, Mill, Hioki Data Acquisition (Thermal-couples and Resistance), Rheometer, Testrite Shrinkage and Force Tester.
