Senior Entry Clerk
CurrentRESPONSIBILITIES: Framing entries; airfreight; sea freight import and export entries; cross-border; trans-shipments; WH/WE/GR/IR/RIB’S/XDP/XRW et. Checking documentation presented to us; suppliers; packing list. Weights; number of pieces and currencies on each invoice.Apply knowledge to customs act; rules and regulations; tariff classification and consultation; quality control; planning and managing workflow of work in the department.Focus:The Interpretation of customs and excise act of 1964 and The Rules to the act.The Tariff book; Tariff classification; Rules of interpretation; Schedules to the customs and excise act of 1964; Chapter 1 – 99; Part 1 to 8; Schedule 1 to 10 and 6 annexures• Quality Control of all Import and export Clearance before sent through to Customs SARS• Submit all quality checked entries to customs and monitor the system for any queries; stops; detentions; rejections and releases. • Overseeing customs department ensuring that entries are framed timeously• Constantly in contact with all stakeholders in operations department being controllers to transport coordinators and accurately responding to their queries and complains• Overseeing customs department ensuring that entry clerks shares the work and pressure equally• Responsible for distribution of all import and export files including that requires special attention, urgent and priority files to the entry clerks• Responsible for Loading and updating client’s parts library• Accurately providing correct HS codes and duties applicable to the estimate department for accurate calculation of duties and vat on estimates to current and potential clients • Interacting with sales executives assisting where they need advises on customs related queries when going to meet current and potential clients• Helps with the application of importers/exporters codes; EUR1 certificates certificates; ITAC permits; plant and port health; assist in other applications that are customs requirements.
