I was a full-time student at the University of Pittsburgh and received my PhD in Anthropology. My research focused on the archaeology of warfare, fortifications, empires, and frontiers in the prehistoric Andes and resulted in my dissertation "Legacies in the Landscape: Borderland Processes in the Upper Moche Valley of Peru".

I translated "Regional Archaeology in the Cauca Medio: Pre-Hispanic Human Occupation in Filandia" by Luis Gonzalo Jaramillo E., Elizabeth Ramos Roca, and Julián Andrés Escobar Tovar into English. This work was for the University of Pittsburgh Center for Comparative Archaeology

I designed, implemented, and analyzed an aerial drone mapping program targeting over a dozen adobe mounds and larger landscape features in the Vicus region of Piura, Peru. This work was done for Dr. Michele Koons (Denver Museum of Nature and Science) and Dr. Alicia Boswell (UCSB).

Trujillo, Peru

I was awarded a NSF Dissertation Improvement Grant (#1719283) and created and directed a full coverage archaeological survey of the Upper Moche Valley of Peru. The project, PARFAM (Proyecto Arqueológico Reconocimiento de la Frontera Alto Moche), was focused on understanding ancient frontier dynamics in a 55km2 area that in prehistory, and today, is a geographic borderland between highland and coastal Peru. I led survey crews, Peruvian and American, in controlled surface collections and survey in this area in addition to the ceramic analyses of the over 16000 sherds collected.

I was the director for MOCHE, Inc.'s Rapid Response Crew Internship Program and a member of the MOCHE Inc. lead staff team from June 2013 to August 2018. This job entailed leading and instructing students in archaeological survey, drone aerial survey, GIS analyses, PXRF analyses, ceramic analyses, excavation, database creation, project design, and community development projects in the Moche Valley of Peru. This job included logistics coordination (food, lodging, transportation) for crews of 5-12 individuals for 1-2 months.
