I am a special education teacher at a special school in Hamden, CT (of the greater New Haven area). My specialties include reading intervention, behavioral intervention, structuring safe and effective learning environments, promoting creativity, coaching and assisting students in finding their sense of worth and expression, fostering discovery and love of learning and providing research and practice supported learning strategies. I have worked in the field of special education since August 2000 and am looking to network and change my career path. I’m looking into potential new career paths and entrepreneurship opportunities.My skill sets include public speaking, writing, technology (esp. troubleshooting), problem solving, coordinating/planning, presentation, collaboration/consultation, motivating students, researching, and working with the public. My general knowledge and ability to navigate various subjects is strong. My best traits are persistence, enthusiasm, eagerness to assist, determination, willingness to explore new things, and patience (most of all). My objective is be of value to a company (even if my own) that provides superior value to people, that provides support for creativity, exploration, discovery, and varying points of view and working conditions that provide professionals with a sense of worth and significance. I feel that I have a lot of potential for growth when given practically any opportunity to do so. I appreciate your interest.
