I am a Walking Guide and Outdoors Instructor in Northumberland, UK and my business Footsteps in Northumberland does just that. I deliver a great programme of guided walks throughout the year, where we walk beside the sea and up in the hills and valleys of Northumberland and the Borders. On a Footsteps guided walk, we are looking out for wildlife, discovering some of the history of the people and the landscape and taking the time to stand and stare as we discover the beauty of Northumberland on foot.In addition, I offer training opportunities for those new to hill walking through the Mountain Training Hill Skills course, which is recognised nationally. I also offer training days for groups and individuals wishing to learn how to navigate using a map and a compass, a great skill to have. I am a Leader for HF Holidays in the UK. I also work as a freelance walking guide, leading holidays along Hadrian's Wall Path National Trail for Shepherd's Walks, a Northumberland based business. I have led holidays in Northumberland and in the Yorkshire Dales National Park for Country Walks, a London based company. Since 2017 I have been leading walking holidays for Just You Holidays, a UK based business delivering a range of holidays around the world for single travellers. In 2020, I will be working with Headwater Holidays to 'meet and greet' their clients visiting Northumberland on walking holidays.
