I enlisted in the US Navy as a Nuclear Electronics Technician and served 6 years until I was honorably discharged in October 2007. I worked as an electronics technician until May 2008, when I was hired as a Non-Licensed Operator at the South Texas Project outside Bay City TX. During this time I qualified various watchstations and was an active member of the station Fire Brigade, ultimately becoming a Journeyman Operator and qualifying as Fire Brigade Leader. I served in this capacity for several years until I was accepted into Licensed Operator Training in 2014. Upon completion of this training and subsequent testing in 2016 I became licensed by the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission as a Reactor Operator for the South Texas Project, a position I continue to fill presently.
