All courses lead to qualifications in enterprise sectors which are growing and need skilled personnel, including information and communications technology (ICT), and key skills for enterprise to trade internationally. Qualifications are also available in cross-enterprise skills such as innovation, enterprise/entrepreneurship, digital marketing, and project management. Our main aim is to get all of our learners into full time employment at the end of the course. As Springboard Coordinator I am in constant contact with 200+ students on a daily basis. I deliver a face-to-face and virtual hand on approach to being their main point of contact here in the college and to facilitate and problems/difficulties that may arise along the way.As the Springboard Coordinator at Griffith College some of the roles/duties I perform are the following:1) Manage all aspects of the application process for the Dublin, Cork and Limerick campuses. 2) Assist the Marketing Manager with the promotion of Springboard courses offered through the Springboard initiative in Dublin, Cork and Limerick.3) Provide guidance to all successful applicants through the registration processes both online and to liaise with Central Administration regarding the external validation of our students.4) Monitor attendance closely and contact students regularly for feedback.5) Engage with all Springboard students with their day to day queries regarding the college environment and the course they are attending.6) Assist the Springboard Work Placement officer in identifying job placements, internships and employment opportunities including arranging professional development workshops and industry speakers. During my time at BC Hydro I worked as the records and information management coordinator for the Generation Procurement team.Initially brought in as part of the Records Management team I was quickly giving more responsibilities due to productivity and organisational skills.I became the lead contract scheduler for all procurement contracts on a major project on the Mica dam in Revelstoke, B.C. which was based on the installation of two new turbine units with a budget of $700-800… Show more During my time at BC Hydro I worked as the records and information management coordinator for the Generation Procurement team.Initially brought in as part of the Records Management team I was quickly giving more responsibilities due to productivity and organisational skills.I became the lead contract scheduler for all procurement contracts on a major project on the Mica dam in Revelstoke, B.C. which was based on the installation of two new turbine units with a budget of $700-800 million. Soon after this I was given the responsibility of the Revelstoke area (including four more dam sites).After 6 months I was the lead contract scheduler for each of the active dam sites in British Columbia where procurement contracts were actively running.During my time working with BC Hydro I showed an ability to learn on my feet and acquire new skills and knowledge fast. I worked closely with all personnel on each of the projects, buyers, engineers, project managers and contract writers. I showed my ability to work on strict time restraints and manage 100+ on-going contracts at the same time ranging in budgets from several thousand to multi-million dollar budgets. Show less
