Managerial responsibilities Oversee the development and implementation of policies, strategies, manuals, plans, procedures and standards pertaining to investigations and forensic services; Provide guidance on investigations, forensic and intelligence management; Establish controls for deployment and application of investigations and forensictools, kits and equipment; Spearhead the development and implementation of Agencies work plans, data, information, records and resources; Spearhead the taking over of ongoing internal investigations undertaken by theinternal affairs unit.  Provide leadership, guidance, coaching and mentorship for the Agencies staff; Oversee employee performance management and competency development in theAgencyOperational responsibilities Guide investigations and forensic operations; Initiate strategic linkages with stakeholders in relation to investigations, forensicand intelligence operations; Provide liaison with other agencies on matter related to investigations, forensicand intelligence; Guide on categorization and prioritization of cases for investigations; Coordinate provision of working tools and equipment for the Group; Provide advice on investigations, forensic and intelligence operations to theManagement and the Board; Guide on redress of operational risks and audit processes for purposes of effectivedelivery of the organizational goals; Review and recommend operational work plans for approval; Review data, information, records, files and processes forquality assurance; Coordinate the review of patterns and trends related to investigations; Identify and document gaps in processes and systems, and recommend correctiveaction; Review and approve annual budget, work plan and procurement plan;

Developing investigation/work plans for the cases allocated. Undertaking investigations on allegations of misconduct, deaths and serious injuries to persons while in police custody, or which are the result of policeaction or inaction; or were caused by members of the National PoliceService; Leading investigations into cases undertaken by investigations teams; Gathering and analyzing evidence and organizing it in statements, sets of records and facts; Gathering information and produce intelligence reports to inform investigations; Recording of statements from complainants, witnesses and suspects officers; Ensuring safe custody of all investigative records and evidence; Attending post-mortems; Documenting all investigations in concise, factual and timely manner; and Supporting prosecution process in court Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
