Fifty percent of the profits of this event will be donated to a fund which will provide both seed money toward a not-for-profit program for young artists and support toward making the festival an annual fund-raising event.The purpose of the not-for-profit will be to encourage children and young adults to turn toward music and the arts instead of apathy by getting them off of the street and into the studio. Music and Art funding at schools across the country has been woefully cut over and over again and our youth are paying the price for economic downturns. Children and young adults will be able to express themselves creatively as well as learn the business aspects of their art field. So many of our young adults have an interest in the arts but have no idea how their talent could one day provide them with more than just a hobby, but a career.It is our hope that we will be able to open several studios throughout the country; especially in those areas most affected by economic depression to help our youth, both developmentally and professionally, to rediscover the magic of the arts and the importance of education to enrich the overall development of their beautiful young minds.Thank you for supporting the future musicians and artists of Freeport and hopefully, America!Karen DuHamel Show less
