As a Senior Scientist and Product Manager at Advanced Targeting Systems (ATS), I lead the production and management of a diverse portfolio of research reagents used by scientists globally. My expertise encompasses the conjugation of proteins, peptides, and antibodies to various tags and payloads, as well as overseeing the complete product development lifecycle—from initial concept and design to molecular cloning, production, purification, and testing.I have successfully developed and produced recombinant proteins across multiple species and systems, and I manage contract research services specializing in cell-based assays, including ELISA, cytotoxicity, receptor binding, flow cytometry, and drug screening. By collaborating closely with customers, I ensure that projects are tailored to meet their specific research needs and objectives.Supported by the SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) program and NIH (National Institutes of Health) funding, I played a pivotal role in advancing one of our targeted toxins into human clinical trials for the treatment of cancer pain in opioid-resistant patients. I was involved in quality control assays, test material production, and stability testing throughout the clinical process. Additionally, I led an SBIR-funded initiative to enhance the specificity and delivery mechanisms of CRISPR gene-editing technology.Currently, I am assisting with the build-out of a CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization) facility, ensuring compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards to support drug manufacturing. In parallel with my responsibilities at ATS, I am pursuing an MBA at UC San Diego’s Rady School of Management to further develop my skills in business strategy, finance, operations, and leadership. Outside of work, I relish the opportunity to spend time outdoors with my dog, friends, and family. A memorable adventure was my five-month journey backpacking the entire Pacific Crest Trail. In my free time, I love traveling and pursuing various hobbies, including tennis, backpacking, biking, and ceramics.

Research ScientistAdvanced Targeting Systems Mar 2017 - Feb 2024Carlsbad, California, UsATS is known as the “saporin people” and initially focused on providing research tools for the Neuroscience research community. Over the years these tools have been used in all areas of scientific research and drug development. The Company’s current product line includes targeted toxins, antibodies, and custom services designed to assist scientists in the study of system functions, cell functionality, diseases and disorders.Advanced Targeting Systems pioneered the use of targeted conjugates for use in a technique called “Molecular Surgery.” These products include specific lesioning agents for cholinergic basal forebrain neurons, noradrenergic and adrenergic neurons, macrophages and microglia and a pan-neuronal agent that strikes an epitope expressed on all neurons. In addition, ATS sells “secondary conjugates” which allow users to convert their own targeting agents into specific cytotoxic tools and to screen antibodies for internalization. -

Research ScientistCytologistics, Llc Mar 2014 - Feb 2024San Diego, California, UsCytoLogistics — formerly known as Cytometry Research LLC (established in 2000 to provide flow cytometry services) — has expanded to fulfill more encompassing Life Science and Preclinical Research needs. CytoLogistics provides research and drug development services: custom conjugations, cell-based assays, compound screening, and flow cytometry (sorting and analysis).CytoLogistics has a scientific staff with expertise to provide a wide range of services:Custom conjugations (ADC, biotinylation, fluorescent tag, protein-protein, etc.)In vitro cell–based assays (cytotoxicity, proliferation, compound/drug screening)Flow Cytometry (Design, Analysis, Sorting)Immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistryIn vitro laboratory services (cell culture, cell staining/preparation)Cell analysis and protein characterization (SDS-PAGE, Immunoblotting, ELISA, BCA, HPLC).Basic research (biochemistry, molecular biology)Preclinical research often requires a higher level of service than other programs. To meet this need, CytoLogistics has GLP processes in place to ensure consistently reliable results, a quality assurance program to provide independent confirmation of procedures and results, and full documentation samples, data, and testing results provided with each service.
