Pat Smith is a mining executive with 40 years in senior management, corporate development, strategic planning and exploration in the natural resource industry. Mr. Smith is currently Director on the board of Graphite One (GPH) and President of Rockford Resources LLC, a private consulting group. After his 32-year career with Rio Tinto, Mr. Smith assumed the role of Director, President and CEO of Heatherdale Resources (HTR) from 2010 through 2015. Formerly Managing Director of Exploration, Australasia Region for Rio Tinto based in Perth, Australia, Mr. Smith has a track record of leading successful exploration teams in the discovery and advancement of economic projects through to development decision. Prior to that he was Exploration Executive for Rio Tinto based in London. Over his long career with Rio Tinto, Mr. Smith has been involved with a number of globally diverse exploration and development projects spanning a number of commodities. Mr. Smith has over 20 years of experience in Alaska. Mr. Smith received his Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Washington University and has completed executive management programs in corporate development and strategic leadership at Duke University and London School of Business. He has public company board and corporate governance experience. Mr. Smith is a Fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists, member of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada, the American Exploration and Mining Association, and Alaska Miners Association.
