Executive level position responsible for all aspects of Jeffboat, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Commercial Lines. During my tenure the business grew to over $200 million in revenues, production capacity grew by 35% and the work force doubled in size. Responsible for developing the strategic plan and setting the vision for the future of the business. In this role I held the sole responsibility of managing the customer relationships servicing ACBL as an internal customer and external industry customers who compete directly with ACBL.

Executive level position responsible for leading and organizing strategic initiatives. Reported directly to the ACBL President and CEO and was focused on driving a $100 million cost savings target. The work done while in this role set the stage for many of the strategies which continue to be of focus today.

Director level operations position responsible for leading approximately 150 employees at 6 key land based fleets and facilities, with a yearly spend of approximately $50 million in services. In this role I had responsibility for all operations providing service to ACBL and public customers. In this role I lead 6 different facility managers.

Management level position focused on the implementation of continuous improvement throughout ACBL’s transportation business. In this role I reported to the VP of Logistics and work with operations leaders on special projects focused on improving barge turn times by improving tracking system functionality, developing processes to enhance fleet performance and improving repair efficiencies at 3rd party shipyards. Led initiatives to reduce barge idle days throughout the network, and would regularly be on site at problem facilities to drive improvement. Responsible for training Continuous Improvement at all levels in the organization with a focus on vessel crews during yearly training meetings in Paducah and Houston.

Lead the operations business unit responsible for constructing 30-35 10,000 and 30,000 barrel tank barges. In this role I was responsible for setting production targets and optimize the schedule to deliver plan levels of production. I lead 200 employees and 12 supervisors and was responsible for performance management of the entire unit. I led or was part of leading over 40 continuous improvement events that increase production efficiency by 25% on the tank barge production line. Worked with 3rd party firm to design and build a new state of the art automated wing box production line, which eventually led to the hopper barge production ramp up by 50%to a rate of 300 barges per year.

Engineering level position, responsible for the development and launch of Generation II Intermodal Container and beer haulers. Worked directly with engineering and operations to facilitate smooth startup of new products. Responsible for completion of DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, DFM, DFA, and related documentation.

Supervisory level position at a tier 1 automotive supplier, leading 4 manufacturing engineers responsible for daily operations. Led manufacturing engineering activities within the steering column, pump and pitman arm production areas. Responsibilities included project management, new product launches and sourcing and procuring new capital equipment. Lead multiple continuous improvement activities to lower production costs and increase productivity. Focused heavily on weld engineering, where I achieved certification as a Certified Weld Inspector.

Plastics Manufacturer of bottle closures using internally designed rotary compression molding, lining and scoring machinery. Team leader for new production cell launches. Responsible for Plant layout, equipment purchase, installation and run-in. Led the maintenance department, overseeing PM activities, machine rebuilds and machine upgrades on all shifts. Responsible for maintaining the plant capital and maintenance expense budgets.

Engineering position responsible for the design and launch of new lighting products within the HID Fixtures group. Focused primarily on parking garage and interior industrial lighting. Responsible for product modeling, performance and regulatory testing and launch into production. Worked closely with customers and operations to assure successful role out of products.
