o Review and approve initial and renewal applications for dealerships, to include the investigation of first-time applicants for compliance with minimum regulatory requirements. o Serve as departmental liaison with new dealerships to include conducting training sessions for new dealerships on compliance with Rules and Regulations, providing oversight and monitoring of dealership officials until they are satisfactorily in compliance with said Rules and Regulations and make recommendations to dealerships on viable business plans. o Responsible for the proper receipt and accounting of all monies in the form of fees with regards to applications at various stages as well as violation fines issued by the Motor Vehicle Dealer Board. o Coordinate unannounced site inspections to dealerships in coordination with all applicable DMV authorities and law enforcement officials for the purpose of ensuring compliance with all state rules and regulations.o Investigate all complaints from multiple entities regarding dealerships to include inspecting and reviewing dealers’ records and submitting a written report to the Board on all relevant findings; monitoring dealer advertisements for violations; investigating individuals suspected of operating without a valid license; and pursuing delinquent renewals of surety bonds and dealer licenses. o Provide guidance to officials of dealerships and their legal representatives relative to violations of laws and regulations to include making recommendations on corrective action plan. At both informal and formal judicial proceedings, to present compiled evidence of violations and to made recommendations relative to the suspension or revocation of licenses. o Monitor, investigate misuse, and apply necessary sanctions with regards to 20-day temporary plates. .

To conduct impartial hearings for the Department of Administration, Division of Motor Vehicles for the purpose of reviewing appeals from motorists or applicants in areas such as suspensions, revocations and cancellations of registration and operator’s licenses and permits.To make clear to the involved parties the procedures to be followed, the right of the individuals and the issues in question.To actively participate in the hearings to ensure that all facts and policies in question are fully and openly discussed.To be responsible for evaluating evidence and testimony presented by the petitioner and/or his attorney and the representatives of the Division of Motor Vehicles.To be responsible for applying the appropriate laws, rules, or policy to individual cases and render a decision which may sustain, modify or overrule the original decision made by the ruling court, to be responsible for composing written reports on each containing the issues involved, the relevant facts brought forth at the hearing, the pertinent provisions in laws and division policy, and the reasoning which led to the decision.To be responsible for preparing any correspondence necessary for the implementation of the decision.To be responsible for being aware of any court decisions or changes in departmental, state, or federal law and/or policy which might effect the hearings procedures.To do related work as required.

The Chief Field Investigator assists in child abuse investigations, conducts court ordered investigations, monitors conditions at the RI Training School, monitors the cases of children in voluntary placements to ensure appropriate provision of services and provide writtenreports to the Family Court. To assist the Child Advocate and legal staff in preliminary investigation of child fatalities within the oversight jurisdiction of the Office of the Child Advocate. Works with the Sr. Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist when site visits reveal the need for acomprehensive investigation into the residential facilities contracted by DCYF to care for children.
