I am a native Houstonian. I grew up in Sharpstown and later moved to Bellaire. I went to St. Thomas Episcopal for elementary school, Lanier for middle school and Bellaire for high school. In 2001, I received a B.B.A. from Texas A&M University while majoring in Finance. After graduating from Texas A&M, I accepted a job at IBM as a Financial Analyst and Addendum Pricer. It was a tremendous opportunity both personally and professionally. The knowledge and experience I gained working directly with executives at both IBM and AT&T continues to serve me to this day. However, it only took a couple of New Jersey winters to realize the north was not for me. So in 2003 I moved back to Texas and enrolled in law school at St. Mary's University in San Antonio a year later. After graduating and passing the bar, I moved back to Houston and began working for Revenew International in a General Counsel/Contract Compliance Auditor role. Revenew taught me the true meaning of customer service and I have tried to emulate their business model ever since. In 2009, I started the Upton Family Law. At that time, I had no clients, no contacts, no staff and no idea how long the firm would last. Five years later, Upton Family Law had 3.5 employees and a consistent caseload of around 100 cases. None of my firms success would have been possible without the support of my family and the mentors that took me under their wings. In 2014 Upton Family Law merged with Nichols Law. John and I are confident that combining our efforts will be a tremendous benefit to our clients now and in the future.
