-Program developer for the “Healthy Feeding, Healthy Eating” research laboratory, which works to better understand the influence of childhood feeding practices, eating behaviors, and diet quality of underserved populations.-Assessed the Rhode Island Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) curriculum for satisfaction and areas for improvement in childhood obesity prevention.-Recruited participants for focus groups and interviews: target population addressed low-income Hispanic immigrant families from Central America and Caribbean islands, as this population is the largest segment of EFNEP participants in Rhode Island.-Conducted and transcribed interviews and focus groups, cooperating with translators to facilitate outreach to non-English speaking communities. -Performed qualitative data analysis of interviews and focus groups using NVivo (QSR) Software.-Updated and modified the adult Rhode Island EFNEP curriculum to incorporate education on parenting styles, feeding practices, and childhood obesity prevention.-Prepared the grant report for the Rhode Island Foundation, the funding agency for the project.
