Patrick Walsh is a Director of Process Development at Mbio Diagnostics, Inc.. Furthermore, over the years, he has been actively involved with the Molecular Structure and Function department’s social committee, and served as its chair. Under this office, he was very proactive in organizing networking events, as well as fundraising initiatives on behalf on The Family Campaign leading to the construction of SickKids’ new Research & Learning Tower. Patrick's accomplishments to date, and his supportive character, continue to impress me professionally. The superior quality of his work definitely indicates that he holds a bright scientific future ahead. Patrick will most likely continue to make major contributions to the scientific community for many years to come. Patrick possesses superior interpersonal skills, thus making him a very approachable co-worker, one who listens to and respects others around him. Mr. Walsh’s accomplishments extent beyond his day-to-day research activities, and he is an acknowledged mentor not only to new members of our group, but also to undergraduate students of the University of Toronto’s Biochemistry Program, as exemplified by his being selected as the recipient of University of Toronto Department of Biochemistry Teaching Award. This is not my first time writing Patrick a recommendation, in 2010 I nominated him as the recipient of the Exceptional Research Trainee Award, and had the pleasure to present his award at the Sick Kids RI retreat."
