Manages AECOM's Safety, Health, and Environment program for roughly a dozen offices in Texas, 2,000 employees in AECOM's US West Region Transportation Business line, and manages the US West Resilience function. In this role, develops, reviews, and approves safety plans, develops and provides training courses, and provides other support as required by local operational leaders or global safety directors. As Resilience lead, manages the US West Region planning and response process regarding responding to disruptive events (including the Covid pandemic) for 70 offices and nearly 7,000 personnel. The breadth of work performed by the DCS division requires Mr. Walz to be familiar with chemical, biological, and physical hazards and control measures on projects as varied as heavy road construction, environmental remediation, and biological assessment projects. In his time with AECOM, Mr. Walz has covered Health and Safety for many geographies and businesses, including offices in Texas and the Gulf Coast, as well as the US Midwest, and our Transportation and Program & Project Management business lines.Prior to URS' acquisition by AECOM, Mr. Walz served as a URS Regional Safety Manager. Before entering SH&E, Mr. Walz was an environmental engineer and project manager at URS.
